Product Applications

1. End-capping agent. It is used in the production of various organosilicon products such as hydrogen-containing silicone oil (non-terminal hydrogen), vinyl silicone oil (non-terminal vinyl), various viscosities of dimethyl silicone oil, amino silicone oil for spinning, silicone rubber, silicone resin, etc. Polydimethylsiloxane obtained by using it as an end-capping agent has good thermal stability and chemical stability.

2. Cleaning agent. Hexamethyldisiloxane, as a representative of cyclic and linear volatile methylsiloxanes (VMSs), is environmentally friendly and does not destroy the ozone layer like fluorocarbon cleaning agents. In the United States, volatile methylsiloxane silicone oil is an exempt product from the volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations and can be used as a substitute for regulated solvents, making formulations more beneficial to human health and environmental protection. It can be used as a substitute for precision equipment cleaning agents used in the electronics, defense, and aerospace industries.

3. Methyl-terminated and vinyl-terminated silicone oil. MM and vinyl double end-capping can simultaneously end-cap the polydimethylsiloxane chain, producing silicone oil with both trimethylsiloxane end-capping and vinyl end-capping, which is used for low-hardness, low-viscosity addition-type potting sealant.

4. Can be used as raw materials for cosmetics/personal care products, such as foaming agents for bubble masks, bubble face wash, high-end sunscreen sprays, non-stick cup lip gloss, long-lasting foundation (quick-drying film formation), etc.

5. Other applications: Hexamethyldisiloxane is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, gas chromatography analysis, bonding aids for photoresist in the semiconductor industry, additives in the rubber industry, surface treatment agents for diatomaceous earth, fumed silica, and other fields. It is also one of the methylsilane reagents.
